Two children--Twins, born onto the face of the Earth, played with each other as toddlers. The small girl was making a crown out of stems and when she finished she gave it to her brother. They both smiled until a dark shadowed man came. The girl looked up, and the man took her, going off in his way. Whereas the little boy, unknowing of what to do, stayed there, dropping the crown of stems with wide eyes staring at his sister being brought away. The girl cried and so did the boy, reaching their hands as much as they can trying to get to each other, but failing...
This story takes place when those twins are older, the male a servant--Len-- and the female--Rin-- the Princess..
---------------------------
Rin sighed quietly; she was once again being dressed for the day. Honestly, she felt she could dress herself if they would just let her for once. Once the woman was done, she walked out and headed towards the dining hall.
"My lady, would you like some tea?" Len walked over to the princess.
Rin looked over to her brother, "Yes, thank you." She sat down at the table. "How is your day going?" she was hoping that maybe he'll actually talk to her today.
"Doing well, thank you." He got out a teacup and a teapot, pouring some tea for her and setting it on the table, "We are to be going to the neighboring country today, my lady."
She sighed and sipped her tea, "Please call me Rin...at least while we're alone?"
Len's eyes grew wide, "A-Are you sure about that?"
She smiled at her brother,"Of course I am. Will you sit with me?"
"I-If My Lady-- R-Rin-chan would like." He nodded and sat on a chair.
Taking the teapot, she poured some into an empty cup and handed it to him, "Maybe some tea will help you relax."
He took the cup hesitantly, drinking out of it. "you're going to the Blue Kingdom later on, am I right, R-Rin-chan?"
Rin nodded "Yes, I think so. Will you be coming with me then, too?"
"If my la--.... Rin-chan would like." He smiled slightly.
Rin nodded and drank the rest of her tea, "Of course I do; we don't really get to talk much, you know.."
"You have much to do. And I do too.." He sighed.
She sighed as well, "Yeah..well, I suppose we should be leaving soon..?"
"Yes, of course. Let's go." He held out his arm for her to take.
Rin took his hand and waited for him to lead her to wherever they were going. Len led her to the carriage where he helped her on it, and silently sat down next to her.
She looked over to her brother and smiled some,"You know it's alright for you to talk to me, right?"
"Well... What should we talk about....?" Len looked at his feet.
"Well..." she looked out the window and stares at the flowers as they pass, "How are they treating you?" she looked back at him; she just wanted to know if he was truly alright.
Len looked up, "Treating me..? It's fine really, since I pretty much just serve you and clean.."
He smiled a bit and looked out of the carriage. "Oh look, we're here now."
Sighing in relief, she smiled and nodded.
"That's good to hear."
Len nodded, and helped her out of the carriage. As they walked, they came across a man, and two women. The girl with the long, blue green hair smiled beautifully, causing Len to fall in-love with her instantly.
Rin couldn't help but look around the breathtaking garden as they walked. She almost bumped into her brother as he stopped,"Why did yo-" she stopped as she looked up and saw the boy with blue hair. She blushed, before curtsying to show her respect. "G-good morning.." she said, not really sure of what else to say at the moment.
Kaito smiled, "Hello."
Then he noticed Len staring at his girlfriend, "Who may you be?"
Len looked at Kaito and bowed down, "I am Princess Rin's servant, Len.."
He stood straight and excused himself, before walking back to where the carriage was. Haku trailed behind Miku like an obedient puppy when she noticed two blond people in front of said girl and Kaito. This must be...Princess Rin, thought the gray-haired girl. Haku fidgeted, shy and unsure of what to do in such a situation. Ah, and apparently the blond boy was Len.
Miku smiled brightly and bowed to Princess Rin, "Hello, I'm Miku!"
She kept a hold on Kaito's arm happily. The blue-green haired girl looked at Haku and said, "This is my sister, Haku!" She squeezed her 'sister's' hand gently. Rin looked away from Kaito and noticed the other two standing there.
"Ah, hello. It's nice to meet all of you."
Haku paled a bit, seeing as how someone she didn't really know had focused her attention on her. She never really was comfortable with strangers, and even worse, she was so shy...but, with Miku's reassuring squeeze, she decided to at least nod politely to Rin. And add a slight bow for good measure.
Rin watched as Len left, a bit confused. She looked back at them,"If you'll excuse me for a moment.." she bowed her head politely and then followed Len. "Where are you going?" she asked,"Don't just leave me there!" she pouted.
Len looked at Rin, "W-Well... I don't think it would be a good idea for a servant to be in th-the way..."
"You're not in the way...I want you to come with me.."
"...A-Alright. If that's what Rin-chan wants." He nodded slowly.
Miku waited, in between Kaito and Haku, her two favourite people.
Rin smiled reassuringly before holding his hand and leading him back over to them. "Sorry about that.."
Kaito rubbed the back of his head a little nervously. "Right." he said before looking at Rin. "Shall we go, then?"
Rin tried her best not to blush,"I-I suppose.."
Len, unsure of what to do, stood still.
Rin looked over at Len,"You can look around the garden for a while. I'll be right back, alright?" She waved before looking at Kaito.
"Yes, I'm ready."
Len nodded, walking off a little, Miku followed, taking Haku's hand, gripping it, walking with her. As Miku and Haku went after Len, Haku couldn't help but notice how Len was a bit fidgety when Rin left with Kaito. She thought that he was quite adorable when he did that. Len had no idea what to do, he was a bit lost without his sister telling him what to do. That and the fact he was being followed. Kaito watched as Miku went with the rest of them before turning towards Rin and smiling.
"So, I understand there were things you wanted to discuss with me?" he asked as he gestured for her to follow him inside.
Rin followed him into the building. She sighed nervously and stared at her feet."W-well..There's...supposed to be an arranged marriage..between..my kingdom and..yours.."
Kaito's eyes seemed to widen. "I.. haven't heard this yet.." he said quietly, thinking about Miku.
"U-umm.. Yeah.. I'm sorry.. about that, I didn't know you had a girlfriend.." she sighed and looked away. She truly felt bad for the both of them. Although she did like Kaito, she didn't wish to make him unhappy.
"It's not that I don't like you...but I love Miku. I hope you understand that." he said as he looked her in the eyes. "Ah...I don't intend to sadden you."
Rin sighed and nodded, "Yes..I understand. I suppose you can..reject the marriage arrangement? I'm not sure how i-it works.." She turned away from him, unwilling to meet his eyes, "That's alright.,."
"Ah..yeah, I think they'll listen if I tell them I already love Miku-chan.." he said quietly. Kaito noticed Rin suddenly became quiet and it seemed as though the atmosphere was awkward. "W-Well..should we head back?"
She fidgeted a little as she listened to him. There was probably no way she could get him to like her anyway. "Y-yes.."
Kaito lead Rin back towards the gardens and smiled happily when he spotted Miku again. He quickly ran up to her and hugged her. "Hi~!"
Miku laughed as she was hugged, "Hello Kaito~"
"How was your walk?" he asked as he started to relax just from being around her.
Miku giggled, "Fun~ Your discussion?"
Kaito sighed quietly.
"Well..it was..interesting. We're going to have to talk to my parents though..they need to know we're together.." he said as he rested his head on her shoulder.
Miku nodded, smiling. "Let's go~ But I need to wash up, so I'll be back, okay, Kaito?"
"Alright then." he replied happily. "I'll wait here." Kaito said, kissing his cheek softly. Miku smiled softly and ran off, bringing Haku with her.
Len looked for his princess. Rin walked back over to her brother and sighed,"W-we're finished here..are you ready?"
"I'm always ready when my lady is..." He looked concerned at the lack of confidence she was holding.
"Alright, then.." she said as she held onto his arm and waited for him to lead her.
Len nodded and walked toward the carriage, helping her inside. Looking back at the three people before heading off.
Rin carefully sat down to where she sat prior to this meeting. She looked out the window blankly as the carriage began to move.
"My lady? What's wrong...?" Len noticed the distraught princess.
She looked over to her brother and shook her head,"It's.. It's nothing. Don't worry." she smiled slightly before looking out the window again.
Len tilted his head, "Do you need me to do anything for you?"
She sighed and looked down at her feet,"N-no..I'm alright. You don't need to worry, Len.."
"Y-You seem upset, if you need anything to be done--go ahead and tell me.." Len stared at her.
She looked up,"I.. Um... I was.. rejected. It's nothing s-serious.."
Len's eyes grew wide, "You don't need me to do anything for you? Anything at all?"
She held out her arms towards him, "A-a hug..."
Len looked at her, and opened out his arms. "O-Okay.."
Quickly, she moved toward him and engulfed him in a tight hug. "Th-thank you..."
"O-Of course, Rin-chan, Anything you'd like.. So I could see you happy.." He hugged back.
Rin stared out the window; her mind kept going back to that girl that was with Kaito. Miku, she was pretty sure that was her name. If Miku was out of the way then...then maybe Kaito would give her a chance. She smiled mischievously and looked at her brother, "I want you to kill Miku."
Len looked at her, "And... Th-that would make you happy?"
She smiled and nodded happily, "Yes! Thank you~"
"Al.. Alright. Head home, I-I'll do the deed."
He had the carriage stop, and took off back to the village. She nodded and waved as he left. Len found Miku alone, grabbed her wrist and pulled her away to a darker part of the village where they were alone.
She stared back, confused. "Yes?"
Len looked at her, kept silent. He took out a knife, and proceeded to kill the one he fell in-love with. He made his way back to Rin's castle--unnoticed. Rin was sitting in her room when she saw Len come in. Her eyes widened as she saw that his hands were drenched in blood,"D-did you really..?"
Len looked up, smiling and chuckled, "I'm sorry I startled you.. Let me wash up and head to my room.."
Rin nodded, "Alright.."
Len smiled and walked off, washing his hands and heading to his room, with the door closed. He hugged a pillow and started to cry.
Kaito looked all over his castle for his girlfriend, but couldn't find her.
"M..Miku..?" he called before finally calling security to conduct a search party.
"Please find her..I don't want anything bad to happen to her." Kaito asked as he sent the security off on the search. He then sat down in the garden where him and Miku used to sit whenever there was a beautiful day. "Please be okay..." he mumbled as he covered his face in his hands.
Rin sat on her bed looking out the window once more. She started to hear noises...like someone was crying. Getting up, she walked over to the bedroom door. Len was crying. Her eyes began to water; it was her fault he was in pain. This.. This was a horrible idea. She knocked on the door, "L-Len?"
Len looked up, wiping his eyes furiously, "Don't worry, my lady.. I'm fine." He stood and opened the door.
She looked at him, noticing his eyes were swollen and red."Y-you are not.." she mumbled before hugging him tightly as she began to cry, "G-gomen nasai..."
"It's alright.. M-Miku's gone so you may marry Prince Kaito.." He hugged back and smiled.
"B-but I want you to be happy..."
Len chuckled, "As long as Rin-chan is happy, then I am too."
She smiled slightly and looked up, "R-really?"
"Yeah. Of course." He nodded, "Would you like some tea?"
She nodded and walked over to his bed silently, "C-can I sit here?"
"Whatever my lady would like.." He left the room to get some tea.
"Thank you.." she mumbled as she sat down on his bed. He said he was alright..but he started calling her his lady again. She bit her lip, knowing his was most likely upset.
Len came back with a teapot and a cup, and poured some tea for her. "Here..."
She took the cup gratefully and looked at him, "A-are you sure you aren't angry?"
"Yes I'm sure, Rin-chan. Don't worry. As long as you're happy..." He smiled.
"I-if you say so..." she said quietly before drinking her tea.
"Yes, of course. My sister's happiness comes first in my life, yes?" He chuckled.
"No...what about your own happiness?" she muttered softly and set her cup down to lay on his bed. This really was a horrible idea.
"Like I said many times, I'm happy when you are..!" Len smiled, hugging his sister and letting go. "But...they'll find out Miku is dead..."
"D-did you make sure to hide the evidence?" she asked, not really wanting to hear the answer. A time machine would be amazing right now.
Len nodded. "I'm pretty sure I did."
Rin looked up at him, "O-okay..what do we do now?"
"I'm not sure...Are you hungry, Rin-chan?"
"Not really...I'll just..stay here, if you don't mind.." she finally closed her eyes and let herself fall into a restless sleep; it wouldn't last long anyway. Len sat in his bed, gently stroking his sister's hair.
A few hours later, Kaito was sitting in his room trying not to panic.
"If I panic something bad's probably going to happen to her..!" he mumbled into his pillow when he heard a sudden loud knock on his door. Kaito buried his face more into his pillow. "Come in.." he replied.
"Y..Your Highness..we found the girl." one of the soldiers stated hesitantly as he walked into the room, holding a bag with a bloody knife inside.
Kaito quickly sat up with a bright smile on his face. "Really?? Where is she? She's in her room now, right!?" he exclaimed as he ran out of his room and headed for Miku's.
"Wait..! Your Highness!!" the soldier yelled. The man looked down sadly. "How am I supposed to tell him she's dead..?"
When Kaito arrived in Miku's house he headed for her room, where she wasn't found.
"Miku..?" he called, looking all over the house for her. "He said they found her.. Where could she be??" he mumbled to himself as he looked around frantically.
The soldier finally made it to Miku's house where he found Kaito standing in the living room. "Sir.. There's.... There's something you must know, but you have to see it to believe it.." he said as he lead the prince back to the castle.
****************
"What are you trying to show me? You don't sound too happy that she's back..." Kaito said as he followed the soldier into the room where Miku was lying on the bed.
"Miku!!" he cried as he ran to her side. "W-Why is she bleeding!?" he exclaimed.
"Sir..we found her lying in the streets...and we also found this kni-"
"She's not breathing!!!" Kaito screamed as tears streamed down his cheeks. "H.. How could this happen.." he said, his voice breaking slightly as he fell to his knees and cried as silently as possible.
"I'm sorry, your highness...We got there as soon as we could, but the only evidence we found was this knife...from the Yellow Kingdom."
"Y-Yellow..?" he whispered. "This is unforgivable....gather all the soldiers, I'm declaring war!" he yelled.
Kaito soon arrived at Meiko's house and knocked on the door. "Hello..?" he said, trying not to start crying again.
A woman with shoulder length brown hair opened the door, alert and proper. Seeing that it was Kaito, she went on one knee. "Your highness," she said, though something in his voice made her anxious. She immediately got up. "Is... Is there a problem I'm unaware of?"
"I...yes, someone murdered M-Miku..." he said softly as he stepped inside. "I'm declaring war and I need you to help lead m-my soldiers, please..." he asked. "Do you mind if I sit down for a while..?"
Despite her majesty's needs, Meiko was stunned. Glued to the ground. The maiden was...murdered....? Who would be cruel enough to destroy such a beautiful creation? Snapping back to reality, Meiko stepped back to allow Kaito in.
"Thank you.." he replied sadly as he sat on the couch and kept his head down. Kaito slipped something out of his pocket and opened the box; it was a diamond ring he was going to give Miku when he finally worked up the courage to do so. A sob slipped from his mouth as he began to cry again.
"S..Sorry I'm being so..depressing." he managed to say before pulling his legs to his chest and resting his face on his knees, so Meiko wouldn't have to see him cry.
Meiko looked at her majesty. She had never seen him in this state, but she couldn't blame him. After all, their love was noticeable to the whole kingdom, and they were inseparable. Not knowing what to do, Meiko awkwardly sat down next to him.
"Your Majesty....I," Meiko paused to swallow the growing lump in her throat and put an strong arm around him, "I will avenge the death of the Maiden..."
Kaito put the box back in his pocket; there was no reason for it now..except for a bitter memory. "T-Thank you, Meiko-san.." he mumbled as he hugged her.
The soldier tried not to cry herself during the embrace, and awkwardly rubbed his back. "I assure you, on the grave of my mother, we will win."
Kaito nodded. "A..Alright, we should bring the mob together soon.." he said as he wiped his eyes and reluctantly pulled away from her arms.
"Not right now, your majesty," she said sternly, pushing him gently back in the chair and rushing to the kitchen for some tea. "Right now, you need to rest."
Kaito watched her disappear into the kitchen and smiled faintly. "You're right.." he replied as he closed his eyes for a few seconds; too many things have happened in such a short amount of time.
As her Majesty slept, Meiko went into her room for a piece of paper. Gently dipping the quill into the ink bottle, she began to write out letters informing some of her fellow generals in the kingdom of Miku's death. In this case, Meiko knew revenge would be sweet.
As this was happening Len was cutting watermelons for himself and his princess. He entered the room and woke her, "Rin-chan.."
Rin's eyes slowly opened at the feeling of someone shaking her, "Hmm..?" she whined, not wanting to get up.
Len laughed, "Watermelons, Would you like one? I cut us both a piece.."
She smiled slightly and sat up properly, "Yes, thank you. Will you sit with me?"
Len smiled, "If you'd like.." He sat next to her and handed her the watermelon slice, then took his own and took a bite.
Taking the slice, she began eating as well despite her lack of an appetite. She knew something was bound to happen soon. But as to what it would be; Rin wasn't sure.
Len leaned on Rin's back, "Try to be happy, Rin-chan.." Rin looked back at him and sighed softly, "A-alright.." She closed her eyes and hugged him, "You won't leave me, will you?"
"Leave you? What do you mean?" He hugged back.
"I don't want to lose you because of this.."
"I don't understand.." He pulled away from the hug and looked into her eyes. "Now--Explain."
She looked back into his eyes only for a moment,"I-I know something bad is going to happen.. Because of what happened. I just don't want to lose you,too.."
Len smiled, "Don't worry Rin-chan. I'll be here."
Rin nodded and smiled a little more happily this time, "Alright."
Len hugged her tighter and pulled away, finishing his watermelon slice.
She looked at him, "Thank you.."
"Of course. I love you, Rin-chan. I'll be right back. Then we can do something you'd like." Len cleaned up the food and dishes, bringing them to the kitchen and coming back.
Rin smiled and looked up at him, "I love you too," Carefully, she got up and held his hand. "Do you want to go out to the garden?"
"Alright, But only for a little bit, okay?" Len smiled.
She nodded in agreement before quickly leading Len out to the garden. Len followed quietly. Once they got there, she let go of his hand and looked at all of the flowers.
"Spring is always the best time to come here..." she sighed and looked at him from the corner of her eye. She smiled and lightly touched his shoulder, "Tag!" she laughed before running off. She wanted Len to be able to relax for once.
Len gasped and chuckled, "I'll get you Rin-chan!" He sprinted towards the running princess.
She laughed and ran through the trees, "No, you won't!" Rin noticed he was catching up, and quickly turned the other way. Len, surprised by her sudden turn, lost focus on his path and tripped on a rock, but landed on his feet, crouching. He then stood up and followed Rin's path.
Hearing Len fall, she turned her head, "A-are you alright?" she said, although she was still running.
Len snorted, "Fine, It doesn't hurt." He stopped running for a moment, waiting...
She stopped and turned back to him, "Are you sure..?"
"Well.. I'm pretty sure." He shrugged.
"Alright, then!" She waved at him before running off again.
Len closed his eyes for a moment, and then sprinted as fast as he could after his sister. It couldn't be hard, right? I mean, she was wearing a dress... Rin gasped as she turned and saw him catching up again. Before she could turn, he caught her. "I guess I'm it," she smiled and started running after him.
"I'll only be it if you catch me before I get inside~" He chuckled and started to run towards the door.
"Don't get your hopes up!" She pouted slightly before turning and running after him.
Len laughed and continued to the door. "You won't catch me~"
"Are you sure about that?" she questioned. Stretching her arm out towards him as she got closer, Rin quickly tagged him. He gasped and turned quickly touching her before she ran off, as he sprinted forward getting closer to the door.
Rin stopped and pouted, "What was that?" she yelled after him, smiling nonetheless. "Alright, you win!" she yelled after him as she continued to follow.
"Not until I get inside!" He touched the door frame and stepped inside, laughing.
"That doesn't count, you're already there!" she laughed and walked in. "So what would you like to do?"
"Doesn't matter, Rin-chan." He smiled wide and laughed.
Kaito soon woke up to the smell of tea being brought to him. Despite the deep sadness he still felt..he also felt a bit refreshed. "I know I've said this quite a bit of times, but..I really appreciate this." he said, taking the cup and carefully sipping from it. "Should we start to gather the soldiers then?"
"I already contacted several generals in the are, including some of our allies to assist us," she replied, taking a seat next to him. Kaito looked up at her in admiration.
"You sure are prepared~" he replied, smiling softly before he finished his tea.
She sipped her own cup of tea. "Of course," she smirked lightly, "After all, you were so anxious for this. I'd rather have you not worry."
Kaito set his cup down and waited patiently for her to finish. He stood up and looked out the window--the sun was going down. "Perfect.." he whispered. This way it could be somewhat of a surprise. She looked at her Majesty with a questioning eyebrow. She had never seen him so...focused...
Kaito looked back at her and smiled. "Ready?"
"When you are, your majesty," she smiled, picking up her sword.
Kaito nodded showing that he was ready. "Shall we go back to the castle, then?" he asked, holding the door open for her.
"After you."
Kaito smiled and began to head back to his castle. She followed silently, sword in hand.
******************
Kaito quickly headed to the meeting room after assembling all the soldiers. "A...As you all know...Miku was murdered by someone in the Yellow Kingdom..Meiko-san and I have been talking about creating a mob and attacking their kingdom. Now, I'm going to need you all to cooperate with her. She and some others will be conducting this mob." he said, before stepping back and allowing Meiko to talk.
"My fellow soldiers," Meiko raised her voice, "Your gentle maiden was slaughtered without mercy...And thus I expect the same from you! We. Will. Win against those monsters! And losing will NOT be an option!!"
The people listening to her cheered at her speech. The Yellow Kingdom was evil and it was time to get revenge once and for all. They marched over to the castle of the yellow kingdom's castle and demanded for the princess. Everyone ran off out of the castle except for Len and the princess herself. How were they going to escape this?
Kaito ran up to where Rin's room was, basing off his memory of playing with her when they were children. He busted into the room and looked around. 'Where is she!?' he thought to himself, but didn't want to be too loud; this way he wouldn't alarm them if they were nearby.
He then headed toward Len's room where he heard soft movements; it must've been them.
Len and Rin were of course in Len's room, Len noticed the soft padding on the ground, informing him someone was at the door of his room and whispered to Rin, "Go into the bathroom. Change into this cloak and my clothes, I'll change into yours. We're twins--No one will notice the difference." Len smiled and took a pair of clothes and handed it to her, "There's also a door over there. It'll lead you out of the castle so go. I'll be fine, and I have some of your clothes that I was supposed to fold. So I can change quickly." He ushered Rin into the bathroom with the cloak and closed the door, then he quickly changed and styled his hair to be just like Rin's. He whispered through the door, "I love you, Rin-chan."
Rin's eyes widened as she was pushed into the bathroom,"Wait...w-what's going on..?" she wasn't given an answer, however. She sighed and began to change her clothes."I-I love you too..but why are you mentioning this now?" He didn't answer, so she nervously went through the door and left the castle. What was going on?
Kaito quickly called a few of his guards, so they wouldn't be able to escape. "They're in there." he whispered. The soldiers nodded in understanding before breaking into the room and capturing who they thought was the princess. He stared down at Len and frowned. "Why did you do it?"
The 'princess' looked up and smiled, "Do what?"
Kaito looked at him, trying to fight the tears that were threatening to fall. "I know you killed her. It happened as soon as you left; right after I declined the marriage and the knife is from the Royal family of the Yellow Kingdom."
"Oh, was it? Well, Oops. Sorry, Prince Kaito." Len smiled sympathetically, "So what do you plan to do now that you've captured me?"
Kaito's heart seemed to sink. "Y.. You say it like it's nothing important. I--I loved her; you couldn't let go of your jealousy or whatever it was that caused you to murder an innocent woman." he replied, unable to hold back his tears anymore. "Arrest her! I want her beheaded. At three o'clock tomorrow." he ordered and watched as Len was taken away to be put in a prison cell. 'How could someone do that and be able to smile...?'
Len kept still in his prison, looking at the ground. "As long as my lady's safe.." he whispered. "As long as she's safe...I will be content."
Len missed his sister, but if he saw her one last time before he died...Then he would smile wide.
Rin had heard the guards taking her brother away and quietly ran after them to see her brother.
When she found his cell she stared at him in disbelief, "Th-this is what you were planning on doing? Len...I don't want this to happen..."
"It's alright, Rin-chan." He urged on, "Do me a favour. Smile for me.."
"S-smile..?" She didn't really see what there was to smile about; but if it was what her brother wanted...
Rin smiled a bit, it was undeniably hard not to cry in this situation, "L-len...I love you.."
Len laughed wholeheartedly, "I love you, too, My princess." He stood as close as he could to Rin, considering there was a bunch of metal bars keeping them apart. "You should be off, it's almost three o'clock. You'll see me soon again.."
"I..I will..?" she began to get hopeful. Would she really see him again, or was this just him trying to cheer her up?
Len nodded, "You will." He knew it would be the last time, but he wouldn't mention that.
"Alright then...see you later, Len." She smiled sadly and waved before walking away until her silhouette slowly began to disappear into the darkness.
Kaito walked down into the prison with his guards to take Len to be beheaded. "It's time." he said as they took him to the stadium and put his head and arms through the Guillotine.
Len was placed in the position in the guillotine, "Can I say one last thing before you behead me...?"
Rin stood in the crowd, still nervous about what was going to happen to her brother."He said we would see each other again.." She repeated to herself, still hoping he had a plan to escape from this. What she didn't know, is that Len saw her--This was what he meant, by 'see each other again.'
Kaito looked at him tiredly; he couldn't sleep all night. "What is it?" he asked, deciding to give the murderer one last wish.
Len smiled, "I just wanted to say I love my...brother." The clock rang and Len smiled looking into Rin's eyes, "Oh look, It's time for tea!" The guillotine's sharp edge came down, crashing upon Len's neck, cutting his head off, clean.
The prince sighed at the loss of his friend...it really didn't make him feel any happier, but she deserved it for murdering Miku-chan.
Rin's eyes widened as the the guillotine came crashing down onto her brother's head. He lied to her. Why didn't she realize he was going to do this!? Tears began to stream from her eyes, she tried her best to wipe them away but it was of no use. This was her all fault...
******
During Len's death he woke up finding himself chained. Red chains on his wrists and blue chains on his ankle. He looked around and saw a familiar girl. A familiar girl he fell in-love with and murdered by an order.
"You are a very sinful boy." She said to him. "You have done many wrongs. So you must suffer here."
Len looked up, with a tear-stained face, unable to say anything. He swore in this place where he was at, he heard a voice singing.
"Lu-li-la lu-li-la" It sang on.
It was the voice of someone he knew. Someone he loved more than anything. The voice of his sister. He cried even more, remembering all the damage he created. All the memories including his sister.

'I don't get it, why do you always come here?' Rin crossed her arms.
'They say if you write something on a piece of paper, put it in a bottle, and let it sail away, your wish comes true!' Len smiled, 'Would my lady like to try?'
Rin huffed, 'Only the uncivilized poor would do something such as that!' Then she realized, 'I mean.. Isn't Len-kun going to grant my wishes always?'
Len smiled and chuckled.
'Anyway.. What do you always wish for?' Rin questioned.
'I wish for Rin-chan's chest to grow very big!' He laughed at Rin's flushed reaction.
'I'm kidding. I wish for Rin-chan to always be happy, no matter what.'
Rin smiled, 'Then, stay by my side, because when Len's around, I'm the happiest!'
*******
The memories made Len cry even more. There were so many things he regretted.
"Please, If we could be reborn.. It would be nice to be twins again."
He stated, smiling with tears streaming down his face.

A few days had passed; Rin was staring at the sky just as she had been doing every day since then. She couldn't help but cry as she started to think of all the things she put her brother do. It was unfair to him, she should have realized sooner. She slowly began to sing, but choked on every word as her tears became more frequent. Her knees buckled and she fell to the ground, now sobbing loudly for her brother, "I... I'm sorry.. Len...!"
"Hmm, where on earth could Rin be?? That girl...I called for her so many times for lunch already!" Haku silently wondered. She hoped that she wouldn't find her crying in her room again...the poor girl. It's a bit hard to believe that the Rin she saw in the past as a princess was so...broken. Sighing, Haku went off in search of the blonde again. Soon enough, she spotted the once-princess in the confession box? The gray-haired teen was going to leave, out of respect for Rin's privacy, but then, she happened to hear...her quiet confession. Haku's eyes widened as she softly gasped.
Rin got up from her place and headed out to the beach once more. She felt that when she came here, Len might be there. She knew it was stupid to have such high hopes, but she couldn't help it. "Len...?" She looked around cautiously. After hours of searching, she gave up and looked at the sea,"Everything you did was to make me happy...w-what about yourself..? How could this possibly make you happy?" She began to cry once more. Why did she torture herself by coming here day?
Stunned up by Rin's confession in the confession box, Haku had retreated to the chapel's small bathroom, retching in the sink. It was heartbreaking, finally discovering that Rin...was the very one who had ordered Miku to be killed. How could she not have noticed? She knew about Kaito's and Rin's arranged marriage...but when they canceled it, she just dismissed it as something trivial. Haku chuckled pitifully to herself. Wiping her mouth, the gray-haired girl proceeded to the chapel's small kitchen area, searching for a knife. After she found one, she gritted her teeth and went out to search for the blonde. Eventually, she was spotted standing near the waves of the ocean at the harbor. Haku, shakily clutching the ordinary kitchen knife, approached her cautiously from behind. Ugly rage then consumed her and finally persuaded her to lift up her knife, poised for the kill. 'Th-this shall be revenge for dear, sweet Miku!' thought Haku. And then, she couldn't help but think of all the memories she spent with Miku. When she met her the first time. Back then...when she was an outsider in that village of beautiful green-haired people. When she found sweet Miku unconscious on the ground. When Miku told her that she was the sweetest person on earth as she held Haku in her arms. When they both moved out of the green village to work in the city. When Miku... had met Kaito and fell in love. And when...Haku discovered that that same Miku was killed.
And yet, just as the tip of her blade nearly touched a strand of hair on Rin...she just...couldn't do it. Couldn't...murder Rin. Even when her rage and sadness consumed her and reminded her of what Rin did...she just... could not harm her. Even though memories of Miku's beaming, angelic smile flashed through her mind...
Shaking uncontrollably, Haku stumbled backwards, clutching the knife to her chest, tears streaming down her face. She suppressed any surfacing hiccups or sobs, seeing as Rin still didn't notice her presence. Haku whirled around and, as silently as she could, went back inside of the chapel, only to collapse in her room, crying.
---------------
A few days later, Haku was kneeling at the church's altar, praying, silently sending a message to Miku. "Miku... There's something I have to apologize to you... I.... I couldn't take your revenge... Because... Rin, is the girl I was back then. A very... Very lonely girl. Living all along, is a very sad thing... That girl who couldn't do anything... improved in her cooking. The brioche that she made for a snack...was baked very well actually. Ah,... And that moment at the harbor... I... Believe I saw an illusion. I wonder... Who that boy was??"
